I went to a small Easter party at Andreas’ place in Geri. It’s a small village near Nicosia. Cyprus is amazing in any season, but now spring gives you all gifts of mediterranean lifestyle. And citrus blossom is one of these pleasures

I’m a big fan of Adobe Lightroom. I’ve started using it with version 2 and it turned out to be a great program to develop jpeg photos. Then, when I got my Leica X1 and started shooting in DNG, it became my photo library program. All things are easy there, though, I see how people perfect pictures combining Lightroom with Photoshop. But as for an amateur it’s a program to learn a lot and to add more value to my images.
It sends my images even to facebook since v. 3. And it’s rediculuosly easy to do. I didn’t print out pictures much, so I don’t have much of that experience, but new video trainings by Julieanne Kost show how easy I can even order a book of photos.
New development process brings tiny but dramatic changes. Now Lightroom treats my picture with more caress to details. It recovers more under and over exposed parts. And noise reduction part is doing a better job.
A new and exciting part is a Map module. I don’t understand, why did Adobe added it to the photographer’s workflow application, but it’s a lot of fun to use and put old photos on the map.
I believe, it’s well worth its upgrade fee.

I walked in Ledra last evening and passed an old building I wanted to take pictures of for a long time. Not that I’ve chosen the best time and light conditions, but I wanted to convey the feeling of this place. It reminded me of Communalki in St. Petersburg.
It looks calm and quiet, but there is a vibrant crowd in venues nearby.

I love winter in Cyprus. The more years pass the more feelings I receive each winter to come. Skies are full of different peculiar clouds. I don’t have many opportunities to shoot them, but merely observing makes me happy somehow.

ALethrico wind towers

There are 3 wind power generating parks.
This one in located in Alethrico Village, near Larnaca.
It will, if not, generate 31.5 MW of electricity.
It’s not a big part of Cyprus’ capacity over all. Though, it makes a very futuristic view.
Adobe Lightroom video tutorials

Leica bundled their X1 model with a copy of Adobe Lightroom.
I still want to take some course of photography, especially using my beloved X1. But I didn’t find a proper one in Cyprus.
Thought it’s pretty easy to learn how to master the Lightroom. Adobe has a very interesting online course, called The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost
This beautiful woman has a great taste of photography and a skill to explain how to use a very sophisticated tool with ease.
