Today I spent a few hours in a very relaxing place of Cyprus called Agia Napa (Saint Napa). It was a small harbour village with a very quiet life. Now it’s a center of youth tourism of Cyprus. Each year thousands of young people are coming to Agia Napa to spend a week or two in a sunny and pretty vibrant place. Police tries not to interfere with drunk young monsters so they could have as much fun as they want.
But in the morning Agia Napa feels so quiet and still.

Actually, I didn’t post here too long. And I had more then one trip to nice Troodos mountains of Cyprus. But I want to publish them all together as they still are of one theme.
I’m also trying out flickr set slideshow sharing. Hope, they are easy and elegant to use.
I couldn’t embed slideshows to WordPress, though, I found the way around for adding the whole sets. It’s not elegant and stylish, but it works.
Cyprus’ mountains is a different world. After busy tourist beaches of sea side cities of Limassol, Larnaca, Agia Napa and Pafos, I always wonder if these mountain villages are what’s left from old Cyprus.
Cypriots are very friendly. They actually have 2 different kinds of friendliness: one – for tourists, another for themselves and ones who really want to discover their island world. The latter starts with “Gia sas”, traditional greeting. These words really open hearts of Cypriots.
But I was amazed even more when I met people in small mountain villages. Very friendly and always trying to help.
Troodos mountains also is a place of plenty monasteries and small churches. This world I shall have to discover yet.

I skipped my trip to Finland somehow. But I can’t avoid it. As businesswise it was as also adventurous.
I’ve spent some time with our partners for one project and I firmed up in my deep respect of Finns and their way of doing business and just communicate.
I greatly regret we Russians didn’t import protestant customs and traditions to work hard, to teach with own examples, treat homes as a great virtue, treat the street and the country as own home, respect someone’s way and tolerate one’s mistakes, invite to try again. Everything I long to find in my culture and sometimes in my family and quite often in myself.
I haven’t been to Finland for more than 10 years, I was eager to see what has changed and how Finns feel about it.
Thanks to my company, I was able to visit small Korsnas, Vaasa, Rovaniemi, Inari, Helsinki. So I’ve been to the North, fay beyond the Polar Circle and saw polar day, when the sun never goes under the horizon and you have to live with that. I want to come back in the winter and to see auroras in the sky.

I still don’t understand it’s summer in Finland. People walk in shorts and short sleve shirts. It’s kinda chilly for me. But I love everything. People are handsome. I see beautiful guys and girls. Can’t stop loving that. I love local architecture. And, of course, it’s a return to my youth: I used to go to Finland often in my 20s.
Met an interesting girl on my flight from Prague to Helsinki. She was from Arisona. She went to London to have her 5 week courses of teaching English as a foreign language. Then, somehow, she went to Istanbul and traveled north way to Prague on busses and trains. I was amazed to hear that. So, now she was heading back home to see her family before she goes to Indonesia for work for one or two years. She kept reading “Eat, love and pray”. The book was used up. So I thought she had just borrowed it or had bought it used already. She said, she keeps reading on and on, she finds a lot of this that inspire her. I sneaked her name on the boarding pass. I wish everything goes well with you, Bekky, on your way to yourself. Stay safe!

After the whole day of mountain adventures, breathing mountain air, filled with smells of herbs and pine, we stopped by a small local tavern in a mountain village.
The food was tasty and cheap. Owners, not spoiled by tourists in there place, were bringing new meals on and on. They were genuinely interested to know what we liked and what not.
We came around when other customers had already finished their lunches, so we were there alone. But, looking at the busy kitchen we understood there were many people expected for dinner.
Anyway, we receive a lot of positive impressions

После поездок по горам, надышавшись горным воздухом, наполненным запахами трав и сосны, мы остановились перекусить в местной таверне в горной деревушке.
Еда была вкусная и очень дешёвая. А хозяева, неизбалованные туристами, несли и несли разные блюда, и спрашивали, что нам нравится больше и что не очень.
Мы приехали, когда уже посетители закончили обедать, и в таверне никого не было. Но судя по работе на кухне, ожидалось много посетителей на ужин.
Просто море впечатлений.
